Background
I founded JBeck Cyber to solve a problem I kept seeing: small and mid-sized businesses in Northern Utah were either getting sold overpriced enterprise tools they didn't need, or getting no real security work done at all. Neither option was acceptable.
I hold a CISSP-ISSEP — a systems security engineering concentration that goes beyond the standard CISSP — alongside a CISSP and a CompTIA stack covering threat detection, networking, and foundational security. These credentials mean I understand security at both the architectural and operational level, which directly shapes how I scope, execute, and report on every engagement.
I work directly with every client from scoping to report delivery. There are no juniors, no hand-offs, and no ambiguity about who did the work. My pricing reflects where I am in building my independent practice — accessible rates so local businesses can get real security work done without enterprise-firm overhead.
I also run a locally-hosted large language model (Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro) that accelerates reconnaissance analysis and report generation — without sending client data to third-party AI services. What happens in the engagement stays on my machine.
